Despite having to proceed to start his car manually in the semifinal and in the final due to launch control system problems, Petter Solberg won the first round of Fia World Rallycross in Montalegre, Portugal.
The reigning world champion dominated the semi and the final after havin to struggle hard in the heats of day 1, into muddy and stormy conditions. Quick and radical changes in the setup of the car changed the situation overnight, giving Petter the chance of celebrating the season's beginning in the best possible way.
Petter Solberg, like in the previous two RX seasons, uses OMP racewear and car gear (steering wheel, safety belts).
